Texas Roadhouse CEO Giving Up One Year Salary

The founder and CEO of Texas Roadhouse, Kent Taylor, will be giving up his pay for the remainder of 2020 and distributing that money to the front line workers in his restaurants.  The pay period donation will go from March 18th, 2020 until January 7th, 2021.

In addition to the CEO surrendering his salary, the company will also suspend it’s dividend payments to investors during the crisis.

The company recently took part in “The Great American Takeout” campaign on Tuesday, which was a marketing promotion by restaurants across the country to promote their “To-Go Meals” in lieu of dining in at the restaurant.

There are currently 15 million people working in the restaurant industry in America, with each one potentially at risk of lower earnings and job loss.

Texas Roadhouse has more than 500 restaurants across the United States according the company information.
